        AN  ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to electronic access
          to physician profiles
 

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Subdivision 9 of section 2995-a of the public health law,
     2  as added by chapter 542 of the laws of  2000,  is  amended  to  read  as
     3  follows:
     4    9.  The department shall, in addition to hard copy physician profiles,
     5  provide for electronic access  to  and  copying  of  physician  profiles
     6  developed  pursuant to this section through the system commonly known as
     7  the Internet. Such electronic access  to  physician  profiles  shall  be
     8  updated  at  least  once  every  ninety  days to reflect changes to such
     9  profiles with respect to proceedings for medical misconduct and  actions
    10  for medical malpractice. Such physician profiles shall be made available

    11  in  English  and other such languages that the commissioner deems appro-
    12  priate.
    13    § 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth  day  after  it  shall
    14  have become a law.
