        Introduced by M. of A. SALADINO -- read once and referred to the Commit-
          tee on Education
 
        AN  ACT  to  amend  the education law, in relation to a regional cost of
          living adjustment on state aid to school districts
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 

     1    Section  1.  Section  3602 of the education law is amended by adding a
     2  new subdivision 40 to read as follows:
     3    40. Notwithstanding any contrary provision of law, all  state  aid  to
     4  education  provided  pursuant to the provisions of this section shall be
     5  further computed by applying an adjustment for regional costs of  living
     6  based  upon  the  consumer  price index promulgated by the United States
     7  department of labor.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of July  next  succeeding
     9  the date on which it shall have become a law.
