        Introduced  by M. of A. KOLB, PALMESANO -- read once and referred to the
          Committee on Codes
 
        AN ACT to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation  to  designating
          certain employees of the Seneca county sheriff's office as peace offi-
          cers
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-

        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1.  Section 2.10 of the criminal procedure law is  amended  by
     2  adding two new subdivisions 84 and 85 to read as follows:
     3    84.  Employees  appointed by the sheriff of Seneca county, pursuant to
     4  their special  duties  serving  as  uniformed  marine  patrol  officers;
     5  provided,  however,  that nothing in this subdivision shall be deemed to
     6  authorize such officer to carry, possess, repair or dispose of a firearm
     7  unless the appropriate license  has  been  issued  pursuant  to  section
     8  400.00 of the penal law or to authorize such officer to carry or possess
     9  a firearm except while on duty.
    10    85.  Employees  of  the  Seneca  county  sheriff's  office  serving as

    11  uniformed court security officers at  Seneca  county  court  facilities;
    12  provided,  however,  that nothing in this subdivision shall be deemed to
    13  authorize such officers to  carry,  possess,  repair  or  dispose  of  a
    14  firearm unless the appropriate license therefor has been issued pursuant
    15  to section 400.00 of the penal law.
    16    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
