AN ACT to authorize Congregation Ginze Yosef to file an application for
exemption from water and sewer charges for certain assessment rolls
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary,
2 the commissioner of the New York city department of environmental
3 protection is hereby authorized to accept from Congregation Ginze Yosef,
4 a not-for-profit corporation, an application for exemption from water
5 and sewer charges pursuant to chapter 696 of the laws of 1887, as
6 amended, for the fiscal years of 2009 through 2014, for the parcel owned
7 by such corporation in the city of New York, borough of Brooklyn, desig-
8 nated as block 6796, lot 56 in such borough. If accepted, the applica-
9 tion shall be reviewed as if it had been received for fiscal years 2009
10 through 2014.
11 If satisfied that such corporation would otherwise be entitled to such
12 exemption if such corporation had filed an application for exemption for
13 fiscal years 2009 through 2014, the commissioner of the New York city
14 department of environmental protection, upon approval by the city coun-
15 cil of the city of New York, may grant exemption from all water and
16 sewer charges with respect to the subject water and sewer charges due
17 and owing by such corporation on the effective date of this act and
18 cancel charges, fines, penalties and interest remaining unpaid.
19 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
