        Introduced  by M. of A. CLARK -- read once and referred to the Committee
          on Health
 
        AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to health care  prox-
          ies when the principal is pregnant
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 5 of section 2981 of the public health  law  is

     2  amended by adding a new paragraph (g) to read as follows:
     3    (g) A health care proxy may direct which life sustaining treatment the
     4  principal would desire or not desire if the principal is pregnant at the
     5  time a health care proxy becomes effective.
     6    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
