AN ACT to amend item A of subpart B of part XXX of chapter 58 of the
laws of 2020, authorizing certain health care professionals licensed
to practice in other jurisdictions to practice in this state in
connection with an event sanctioned by the World Triathlon Corpo-
ration, in relation to the effectiveness thereof
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Sections 1 and 2 of item A of subpart B of part XXX of
2 chapter 58 of the laws of 2020, authorizing certain health care profes-
3 sionals licensed to practice in other jurisdictions to practice in this
4 state in connection with an event sanctioned by the World Triathlon
5 Corporation, are amended to read as follows:
6 Section 1. Notwithstanding any inconsistent provision of law, any
7 person who is licensed or certified to practice as a physician, physi-
8 cian's assistant, massage therapist, physical therapist, chiropractor,
9 dentist, optometrist, nurse, nurse practitioner, emergency medical tech-
10 nician, podiatrist or athletic trainer in another state or territory,
11 who is in good standing in such state or territory and who has been
12 appointed by the World Triathlon Corporation to provide professional
13 services at an event in this state sanctioned by the World Triathlon
14 Corporation, may provide such professional services to athletes and team
15 personnel registered to train at a location in this state or registered
16 to compete in an event conducted under the sanction of the World Triath-
17 lon Corporation in the state without first being licensed pursuant to
18 the provisions of title 8 of the education law or certified pursuant to
19 the provisions of the public health law, as may be applicable. Such
20 services shall be provided only four days before through one day after
21 each of the following events:
22 a. Ironman Lake Placid [scheduled to be held on July 26, 2020]; and

3 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be
4 deemed repealed [September 17, 2020] December 31, 2020.
