Go to top STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 10268 IN ASSEMBLY May 15, 2024 ___________ Introduced by COMMITTEE ON RULES -- (at request of M. of A. Woerner) -- read once and referred to the Committee on Codes AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to establishing a mental health first aid training program for police officers and peace offi- cers The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 840 of the executive law is 2 amended by adding a new paragraph (n) to read as follows: 3 (n) Establishment and implementation on an ongoing basis of a mental 4 health first aid training program for all current and new police offi- 5 cers and peace officers. 6 § 2. This act shall take effect one year after it shall have become a 7 law. EXPLANATION--Matter in italics (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [] is old law to be omitted. LBD15339-01-4
