HONORING George Hulse for special merit by
Dominican Sunday, Inc. Community Services Org., in
conjunction with Dominican Heritage Month
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body, in keeping with
its time-honored traditions, to recognize and pay tribute to those
organizations and people who foster ethnic pride and enhance the profile
of cultural diversity which strengthens the fabric of the communities of
New York State; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor George Hulse
for special merit by Dominican Sunday, Inc. Community Services Org., in
conjunction with Dominican Heritage Month, celebrated Wednesday,
February 27, 2019, at Under Croft Hall, New York, New York; and
WHEREAS, Dominican Sunday, Inc. Community Services Org. is proud to
recognize George Hulse with Symbolic Honor for being an Adopted Son of
the Dominican Community of New York; and
WHEREAS, George Hulse is Senior Vice President Advisor to the CEO at
Emblem Healthcare, where he oversees local public affairs with
responsibilities including developing, implementing, and managing policy
initiatives, community events, corporate partnerships, and outreach; and
WHEREAS, With a powerful voice, George Hulse has been instrumental
in ensuring underserved communities have access to federal and state
sponsored health insurance; and
WHEREAS, In addition, he has been a stalwart proponent of
collaborating with community organizations, provider groups and
government agencies to improve health outcomes for the populations
serviced by Healthfirst; and
WHEREAS, George Hulse has been a driving force in many company-wide
collaborations, such as annual humanitarian trips to the Dominican
Republic with the Corinthian IPA and Haiti, as well as stemming
relationships with the West Indian American Day Carnival Association,
the New York State Black and Puerto Rican Legislative Caucus, Asian
Americans for Equality and Somos El Futuro; and
WHEREAS, Prior to joining Emblem Healthcare, George Hulse was a real
estate broker, commercial developer and Vice President of community
engagement at Healthfirst for 21 years ; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, George Hulse was proudly listed in Who's Who
in American Politics and Who's Who in Community Leaders of America; and
WHEREAS, George Hulse is a Board Member of: NYC-Department of Youth
and Community Development, American Diabetes Association, Boy Scouts of
America, Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Greater
New York Chamber of Commerce, and The Friends of Harlem Hospital Center;
and
WHEREAS, This impressive man also serves as a member of the National
Association of Health Services Executives, Association of Hispanic
HealthCare Executives, and 100 Black Men of New York; and
WHEREAS, George Hulse served his country with honors during the
Vietnam conflict as a Drill Sergeant in the United States Army, and is a
graduate of City College, CUNY; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Ruth, and their
daughter, Andrea, as well as four grandchildren, all of whom feel
privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, to
honor George Hulse for special merit by Dominican Sunday, Inc. Community
Services Org., in conjunction with Dominican Heritage Month; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to George Hulse.
