Senate Resolution No. 2088

        MOURNING   the   death   of   John   J.  Cichocki,
        distinguished citizen  and  devoted  member  of  his
        community
 
  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens  of  the  State  of  New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life  in  their  communities  and  this
great Empire State; and
 
  WHEREAS,  John  J.  Cichocki died on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the
age of 85; and
 
  WHEREAS, On February 27, 1938, John J. Cichocki was born in Yonkers,
New York; after graduating from  high  school,  he  proudly  served  his
country in the United States Navy from 1956-1960; and
 
  WHEREAS,  John J. "Chicky" Cichocki was employed as a driver for the
United Parcel Service in Yorktown Heights and later drove a  school  bus
for the Mahopac School District; and
 
  WHEREAS,  On  June 25, 1960, John J. Cichocki married Carol Goode in
Yonkers, New York; the couple were blessed with three  daughters;  their
unbreakable   bond,  shared  dreams,  and  bountiful  laughter  were  an
inspiration to family and friends; and
 
  WHEREAS, An avid racquetball player and a loyal fan of the New  York
teams, the Giants and Yankees, John J. Cichocki enjoyed watching sports,
even indulging in occasional gambling; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Known  for his kindness and generosity that reached beyond
family, John J. Cichocki was always  willing  to  help  those  in  need,
believing  that  benevolence  should  be  extended to everyone; his warm
smile and kind heart will be fondly remembered and  missed  by  all  who
were fortunate enough to have known him; and
 
  WHEREAS, John J. Cichocki exemplified an abiding love for his family
and  treasured  every  moment  spent with his grandchildren who were the
apples of his eye; and
 
  WHEREAS, John J.  Cichocki,  beloved  and  loving  husband,  devoted
father, grandfather, and friend, is survived by his wife of more than 60
years, Carol Cichocki; daughters, Donna Collins, Debbie Adams, and Karen
Vucci; sons-in-law, Lawton Adams and Lou Vucci; and eight grandchildren,
Briana, Matthew, Nicholas, Stephanie, Alexis, Louie, Daniella, and Jude;
and
 
  WHEREAS,  Armed  with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, John J. Cichocki leaves behind  a  legacy  which  will  long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
he served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of John J. Cichocki, distinguished citizen  and  devoted
member of his community; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of John J. Cichocki.
