MOURNING the death of Albertina Yvonne,
distinguished citizen and devoted member of her
community
WHEREAS, It is with great sorrow and deep regret that this
Legislative Body records the passing of Albertina Yvonne, noting the
significance of her purposeful life and accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, Albertina Yvonne distinguished herself in her profession
and by her sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the
welfare of her community; and
WHEREAS, Albertina Yvonne's commitment to excellence, and her spirit
of humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise, including
charitable and civic endeavors; and
WHEREAS, Born May 13, 1935, in Saddle Hill, Maraval, Trinidad, West
Indies to parents Charles and Madeline Felix, Albertina Yvonne later
traveled to the United States with the help of her daughter, Verna; and
WHEREAS, Albertina Yvonne is survived by her children, Verna,
Everard, Brian, Sharon, Elizabeth, Kathy, and Shurekka; her sisters,
Elaine and Rosie; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many
nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; and
WHEREAS, She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Byron Ettienne
and her son, Rammy; and
WHEREAS, Albertina Yvonne's passions in life were spending time with
her cherished family, dancing, traveling, and listening to soca and
calypso music; she could often be found enjoying the songs of her
favorite artist, The Mighty Sparrow; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit, imbued with a sense of
compassion, and comforted by a loving family, Albertina Yvonne leaves
behind a legacy which will long endure the passage of time and will
remain as a comforting memory to all she served and befriended; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Albertina Yvonne, distinguished citizen and devoted
member of her community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Albertina Yvonne.
