Assembly Resolution No. 956

        CONGRATULATING  Edward F. Morgan upon the occasion
        of his retirement after 30 years of dedicated public
        service to the Town of Murray
 
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to  recognize  and
honor  those  distinguished citizens of this great Empire State who have
devoted themselves to faithfully serving the  best  interests  of  their
community and the needs of its residents; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this  Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to
congratulate  Edward F. Morgan upon the occasion of his retirement after
30 years of dedicated public service to the Town of Murray; and
 
  WHEREAS, Edward F. Morgan  has  honorably  served  as  the  Town  of
Murray's  Highway  Supervisor  for the past 30 years; he will officially
retire from this esteemed position on Sunday, May 31, 2020; and
 
  WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of Edward F. Morgan, the Town  of
Murray  expanded its public water service by constructing nearly 300,000
linear feet of water main, constructed the Holley  Business  Park,  made
improvements  to  the  Town  Hall and highway department facilities, and
built a salt storage building as well as a computerized fuel  system  to
better serve the town and its first responders; and
 
  WHEREAS,  In his role as Superintendent, Edward F. Morgan oversaw 30
miles of town roads, and was responsible for winter  maintenance  of  17
miles of county roads and 16 miles of state roads; and
 
  WHEREAS, Edward F. Morgan is the proud recipient of the Public Works
Leader  of the Year Award from the Genesee Valley Branch of the American
Public Works Association; and
 
  WHEREAS,  With  a  steadfast  and  unwavering  commitment   to   his
community,  Edward F. Morgan also served multiple terms as the President
of the Orleans County Highway Superintendents Association; and
 
  WHEREAS, For three decades,  Edward  F.  Morgan  rendered  faithful,
conscientious  and valuable service to the Town of Murray, truly earning
the admiration, esteem and affection of his colleagues; and
 
  WHEREAS, Rare indeed is  the  occurrence  of  such  a  compassionate
blending  of  strength,  leadership,  intellect,  and commitment as that
demonstrated by Edward F.  Morgan  over  a  lifetime  of  sacrifice  and
dedication to others; and
 
  WHEREAS,  It  is  the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the  maintenance  of  high  standards  in  their
profession,  certainly  have  earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
congratulate  Edward F. Morgan upon the occasion of his retirement after
30 years of dedicated public service to the Town of Murray;  and  be  it
further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Edward F. Morgan.
