AN ACT authorizing the town of East Hampton, Suffolk county, to estab-
lish an underground utility improvement district
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. The town of East Hampton, in the county of Suffolk, is
2 hereby authorized to establish an underground utility improvement
3 district pursuant to articles 12 and 12-A of the town law. Such under-
4 ground utility improvement district shall be established, funded, oper-
5 ated and otherwise controlled by the provisions of articles 12 and 12-A

1 of the town law and the provisions of this act. To the extent that the
2 provisions of this act shall in any way be in conflict with articles 12
3 and 12-A of the town law, the provisions of this act shall be control-
4 ling.
5 § 2. After an underground utility improvement district has been
6 established, the town board may take such action as may be required to
7 adopt plans and specifications and enter into a contract or contracts,
8 or take such other actions as may be required, for the conversion of
9 existing overhead utility facilities to underground facilities and
10 construction of new underground facilities for utilities.
11 § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
