        Introduced  by Sens. FUNKE, CROCI, RANZENHOFER -- read twice and ordered
          printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Agricul-
          ture
 
        AN ACT to amend the agriculture and markets law, in relation to  exempt-
          ing dog license fees for deployed active military member's dogs

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 108 of the agriculture and markets law  is  amended
     2  by adding a new subdivision 30 to read as follows:
     3    30.  "Deployed active military member's dog" means any dog whose owner
     4  is an active member of the military  that  has  received  and  presented
     5  orders  to  report for military service which requires temporary housing
     6  while the owner is filling their service commitments.
     7    § 2. Subdivision 2 of section 110 of the agriculture and markets  law,
     8  as  added  by  section 5 of part T of chapter 59 of the laws of 2010, is
     9  amended to read as follows:
    10    2. Municipalities may exempt from their licensing fees any guide  dog,
    11  hearing  dog,  service  dog, war dog, working search dog, detection dog,
    12  police work dog, deployed active military member's dog or  therapy  dog.
    13  Each  copy  of  any  license for such dogs shall be conspicuously marked
    14  "Guide Dog", "Hearing Dog", "Service Dog", "Working  Search  Dog",  "War
    15  Dog",  "Detection  Dog",  "Police  Work  Dog", "Deployed Active Military
    16  Member's Dog", or "Therapy Dog", as may be appropriate, by the clerk  or
    17  authorized dog control officer.
    18    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
