        AN ACT to amend the education law,  in  relation  to  clarifying  health
          education
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1.  Subdivision 1 of section 804  of  the  education  law,  as
     2  amended  by  a  chapter  of the laws of 2016, amending the education law
     3  relating to clarifying health  education,  as  proposed  in  legislative
     4  bills numbers S.  6046-A and A. 3887-B, is amended to read as follows:
     5    1. All schools [under the jurisdiction of the department] shall ensure
     6  that  their  health education programs recognize the multiple dimensions
     7  of health by including mental health and the relation  of  physical  and
     8  mental  health  so  as  to  enhance student understanding, attitudes and
     9  behaviors that promote health, well-being and human dignity.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect on the  same  date  and  in  the  same
    11  manner  as  a  chapter  of  the laws of 2016, amending the education law
    12  relating to clarifying health  education,  as  proposed  in  legislative
    13  bills numbers S. 6046-A and A.  3887-B, takes effect.
