        Introduced  by  Sen.  KRUGER -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Consumer Protection
 
        AN ACT to amend the general business law, in relation to prohibiting the
          sale or rental of indecent material near a school or place of worship
 

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The general business law is amended by adding a new section
     2  397-b to read as follows:
     3    §  397-b. Sale of indecent material near a school or place of worship.
     4  It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to sell,  offer
     5  for  sale,  rent,  offer  to  rent  or  to display indecent material, as
     6  defined in subdivision one of section 235.21 of the  penal  law,  within
     7  two  hundred  feet of any public or private primary or secondary school,
     8  church, synagogue, or other place of worship.
     9    § 2. This act shall  take  effect  on  the  first  of  September  next
    10  succeeding the date on which it shall have become a law.
