Go to topSTATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 2796 2019-2020 Regular Sessions IN SENATE January 29, 2019 ___________ Introduced by Sen. COMRIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Health AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to requiring hospi- tals to provide forms in Punjabi The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The public health law is amended by adding a new section 2 2805-z to read as follows: 3 § 2805-z. Forms printed in Punjabi. Every hospital shall, at a 4 patient's request, provide any medical form or printed information which 5 is given to a patient or required to be signed by such patient trans- 6 lated into Punjabi. 7 § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall 8 have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in italics (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [] is old law to be omitted. LBD00178-01-9
