Go to top STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 3351 2011-2012 Regular Sessions IN SENATE February 17, 2011 ___________ Introduced by Sen. STAVISKY -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Higher Education AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to the right to "tabling" on a college campus The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 6430 of the education law is amended by adding a 2 new subdivision 7 to read as follows: 3 7. As used in this subdivision, "tabling" shall mean the dissemination 4 of information through displaying literature and/or sign up sheets and 5 verbal enticing with the possible use of a table and chairs in a public 6 place. Any club or organization officially recognized by the student 7 government or administration of a college or university shall not be 8 restricted in any manner from tabling by the exterior of any building on 9 campus as long as the tabling does not prohibit or unduly restrict the 10 access to the building or disrupt the academic uses of the building. 11 § 2.
