AN ACT to amend the parks, recreation and historic preservation law, in
relation to certain reimbursements for the provision of ambulance and
fire response
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Section 9.05 of the parks, recreation and historic preser-
2 vation law is amended by adding a new subdivision 3-a to read as
3 follows:
4 3-a. Reimburse any volunteer ambulance company as defined in subdivi-
5 sion two of section three of the volunteer ambulance workers' benefit
6 law or any volunteer fire company as defined in subdivision two of
7 section three of the volunteer firefighters' benefit law for the
8 provision of any fire or other emergency services rendered by such
9 volunteer ambulance company or volunteer fire company in the Palisades
10 Interstate Park by such ambulance company or fire company. For the
11 purposes of this subdivision, the value of services for a particular
12 accident or incident shall be established by the volunteer ambulance
13 company or the volunteer fire company, by consideration of salaries,
14 benefits and time of personnel assigned together with the pro rata
15 expenses of products, vehicles and equipment utilized. Statements of
16 qualifying claims shall be submitted by the volunteer ambulance company
17 or volunteer fire company to the commission within ninety days of the
18 occurrence of the accident or incident.
19 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately; provided, however, that
20 effective immediately, the addition, amendment and/or repeal of any rule
21 or regulation necessary for the implementation of this act on its effec-
22 tive date are authorized and directed to be made and completed on or
23 before such effective date.
