        Introduced  by  Sens.  LAVALLE,  FUSCHILLO, HANNON, JOHNSON, MARCELLINO,
          MARTINS -- read twice and ordered printed,  and  when  printed  to  be
          committed to the Committee on Energy and Telecommunications
 
        AN  ACT  to  amend  the public service law, in relation to including the
          Long Island power authority within the meaning of the  terms  "utility

          corporation"  and "public utility corporation" for purposes of certain
          provisions of such law
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Subdivision 24 of section 2 of the public service law, as
     2  added by chapter 782 of the laws of 1930 and as renumbered by chapter 12
     3  of the laws of 1941, is amended to read as follows:
     4    24. The term "utility corporation" or "public utility corporation"  is
     5  defined  as  an  incorporated  utility  company and, notwithstanding any
     6  other provision of law, shall include the Long  Island  power  authority
     7  for  purposes  of  this  article  and articles two, four and six of this
     8  chapter.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of January next  succeed-

    10  ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
