        Introduced  by  Sen. LAVALLE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation
 
        AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to  authorizing
          the  village  of  Port Jefferson, county of Suffolk to adopt any ordi-
          nance, rule or regulation affecting the stopping, standing or  parking

          of motor vehicles along Main Street
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The opening paragraph of section 1684 of  the  vehicle  and
     2  traffic law is designated subdivision 1 and a new subdivision 2 is added
     3  to read as follows:
     4    2.  Notwithstanding the provisions of subdivision one of this section,
     5  the village of Port Jefferson, county of Suffolk, is authorized to adopt
     6  any ordinance, rule or regulation affecting the  stopping,  standing  or
     7  parking   of   motor   vehicles   along  that  portion  of  state  route
     8  twenty-five-A located in such village and constituting Main Street.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
