        Introduced  by  Sen. LATIMER -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules
 
        AN ACT in relation to authorizing the village of Mamaroneck to designate
          a portion of United States Route 1 as a school zone
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Notwithstanding  the  provisions  of the highway law, the
     2  vehicle and traffic law or any other laws to the contrary,  the  village
     3  of  Mamaroneck  is hereby authorized to designate a school speed zone on
     4  West Boston Post Road (United States Route 1) with a posted speed  limit
     5  of 20 miles per hour, effective school days between 7 AM and 5 PM, to be
     6  located  between  the  entrance of Mamaroneck town hall, 740 West Boston
     7  Post Road and Richbell Road in the village of Mamaroneck.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
