        Introduced  by  Sen.  AKSHAR -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules  --  recommitted  to
          the  Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions in accord-
          ance with Senate Rule 6, sec. 8 -- committee discharged, bill amended,
          ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee

        AN ACT to amend the village law, in relation to exempting the Village of
          Port Dickinson Fire Department from the requirement that the  percent-
          age  of  non-resident  fire  department  members not exceed forty-five
          percent of the membership
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.    Subdivision 7 of section 10-1006 of the village law, as
     2  amended by chapter 476 of the laws  of  2018,  is  amended  to  read  as
     3  follows:
     4    7.  The membership of any volunteer firefighter shall not be continued
     5  pursuant to subdivision five of this section, and persons shall  not  be
     6  elected  to  membership pursuant to subdivision six of this section, if,
     7  by so doing, the percentage of such non-resident  members  in  the  fire
     8  company  would  exceed forty-five per centum of the actual membership of
     9  the fire company, provided however, that the provisions of this subdivi-
    10  sion shall not apply to the membership of the village of Blasdell volun-
    11  teer fire department, provided however,  that  the  provisions  of  this
    12  subdivision shall not apply to the membership of the village of Delanson
    13  volunteer   fire   company   in  the  village  of  Delanson,  county  of
    14  Schenectady, provided however, that the provisions of  this  subdivision
    15  shall  not  apply  to  membership  of the village of Port Dickinson Fire
    16  Department, within the village of Port Dickinson, Broome County.
    17    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
