Go to topSTATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 7016 2023-2024 Regular Sessions IN SENATE May 16, 2023 ___________ Introduced by Sen. O'MARA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to permitting animal-drawn vehicles to equip and use amber flashing lights The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 376 of the vehicle and traffic law is amended by 2 adding a new subdivision 5 to read as follows: 3 5. Animal-drawn vehicles shall be permitted to be equipped with, and 4 to operate, amber flashing lights of the kind used by hazard vehicles 5 while in use and while parked. The provisions of this subdivision shall 6 not apply in a city with a population of one million or more. 7 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
