AN ACT in relation to the conveyance of land formerly used as an armory
to the city of Rome, county of Oneida
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Subject to the provisions of this act but notwithstanding
2 any other provision of law to the contrary, the commissioner of general
3 services is hereby authorized to transfer and convey to the city of Rome
4 in consideration of one dollar and upon such other conditions as the
5 commissioner may deem proper land formerly used as an armory and further
6 described in section two of this act.
7 § 2. The lands authorized by this act to be transferred and conveyed
8 are as follows:
9 ALL that certain tract, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and
10 being in the City of Rome, County of Oneida, State of New York, bounded
11 and described as follows:
12 BEGINNING at a point on the easterly side of Black River Boulevard,
13 said point being 154 feet northerly measured along the east side of said
14 Black River Boulevard from the northerly side of East Locust Street;
15 running thence North 26 13' East 123.19 feet to a point and North
16 27 22'20" East 166.81 feet along the said easterly side of said Black
17 River Boulevard to a point on the southerly side of a 10 foot strip of
18 land bounding on the south the southerly line of a Map of Section 3 John
19 C. Lynch Sub-division east of Black River Boulevard, Rome, New York,
20 made for Oneida Homes Inc., June 11, 1943, by Merritt & LaBella, Profes-
21 sional Engineers and Surveyors, filed in the Oneida County Clerk's
22 Office; thence South 62 47' East 677.00 feet along the southerly side of
23 said 10 feet strip to an iron pin in the westerly line of land shown on
24 Map of Section 4, John C. Lynch Sub-division east of Black River Boule-
25 vard, Rome, New York, made for Jess- Well Homes, Inc. by Merritt &
26 LaBella, Professional Engineers and Surveyors, dated August 10, 1943,
27 and filed in the aforementioned County Clerk's Office; thence South
28 27 20' West 288 feet along the said westerly line of said land shown

1 upon said last mentioned map to an iron pin in the northerly line of the
2 so-called Burt Olney Tract; thence along said line North 78 15'30" West
3 303.17 feet to a point; thence North 27 15' East 79.73 feet to a point;
4 thence North 62 45' West 382.44 feet to the point and place of begin-
5 ning. Containing within said bounds 4.623 acres, be the same more or
6 less.
7 All Bearings are referred to True North.
8 § 3. The commissioner of general services shall not transfer or convey
9 the aforesaid land unless application is made by the city of Rome within
10 one year after the effective date of this act.
11 § 4. Any lands transferred pursuant to this act shall be used for the
12 purposes of the city of Rome to utilize the subject property and improve
13 the structures for use by the recreation, electrical and parks depart-
14 ments and recreational programs developed and operated by the city of
15 Rome, and upon termination of such use title to the lands so transferred
16 shall revert to the state of New York.
17 § 5. This act shall take effect immediately.
