        Introduced  by  Sen.  GOLDEN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules
 
        AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to requiring the division
          of veterans' affairs to maintain an employment portal on its website
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 

     1    Section 1. Section 353 of the executive law is amended by adding a new
     2  subdivision 7-b to read as follows:
     3    7-b.  To provide information regarding resources that are available to
     4  assist veterans in  obtaining  employment  by  maintaining  a  veterans'
     5  employment  portal on the division's internet website. Such portal shall
     6  provide virtual links to appropriate governmental programs on the feder-
     7  al and state level, including, but not  limited  to  the  United  States
     8  department  of  labor  and  the New York state department of labor.  The
     9  division may consult with members of the community  devoted  to  helping
    10  veterans  obtain  employment.  The division shall make reference to this
    11  information pursuant to subdivisions four-a, four-b, and four-c of  this

    12  section  and  the  annual  report to the governor and the legislature as
    13  provided  in  subdivision  eleven  of  this  section.  Such  information
    14  required  under this subdivision shall be maintained and updated annual-
    15  ly.  The information may also be made available in printed form.
    16    § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
    17  have become a law, provided that any rules and regulations necessary for
    18  the implementation of this act on its effective date shall be promulgat-
    19  ed on or before such date.
