        Introduced  by  Sen.  ORTT  --  read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules
 
        AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation  to  the
          siting of natural gas compressor facilities
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Article 19 of the environmental conservation law is amended
     2  by adding a new title 13 to read as follows:
     3                                  TITLE 13
     4                 SITING OF NATURAL GAS COMPRESSOR FACILITIES
     5  Section 19-1301. Siting of natural gas compressor facilities.
     6  § 19-1301. Siting of natural gas compressor facilities.
     7    Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, a  natural
     8  gas compressor facility shall not be sited within two and one-half miles
     9  of the boundary of any school property. Furthermore, no license shall be
    10  issued  to any individual to operate any natural gas compressor facility
    11  within two and one-half miles of the boundaries of a school property.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
