        Introduced  by  Sen.  CLEARE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Crime Victims,  Crime  and
          Correction
 
        AN ACT to amend the correction law, in relation to providing information
          regarding medicare part B coverage to certain individuals
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 71 of the correction law is amended by adding a new
     2  subdivision 7-a to read as follows:
     3    7-a. Whenever  the  department  receives  information  that  a  person
     4  committed  to the department is a medicare part B recipient, the depart-
     5  ment shall provide to such person information regarding  termination  of
     6  medicare part B coverage for the duration of incarceration.
     7    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
