        Introduced  by  Sen.  CLEARE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Consumer Protection
 
        AN ACT to amend the general business law, in relation to requiring tele-
          marketers to add a customer's  telephone  number  to  all  do-not-call
          lists maintained by such telemarketer
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 399-z of the general business  law  is  amended  by
     2  adding a new subdivision 9-a to read as follows:
     3    9-a. Where a customer requests to have his or her telephone number put
     4  on a do-not-call list maintained by a telemarketer and such telemarketer
     5  maintains  more  than  one such do-not-call list, the telemarketer shall
     6  place the telephone number of such customer  on  all  do-not-call  lists
     7  maintained by such telemarketer.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
