To designate a portion of the state highway system as the "Assemblyman
James D. Conte Memorial Highway".

with state route twenty-five in the town of Huntington to its inter-

JUSTIFICATION:
This legislation is intended to honor the late Assemblyman James D.
Conte, who represented New York's Tenth Assembly District from 1988 to
2012. In his twenty-four years in the Legislature, Conte embodied the
spirit of faithful public service, not only to his constituents, but to
the State of New York. Conte's tireless advocacy of organ and tissue
donation won him great acclaim among his colleagues, and the resulting
legislation has undoubtedly improved the quality of life for many New
Yorkers.
The portion of New York State Route 110 to bear his name is an ideal
location, as it is a major hub of Assembly District Ten, and is where
his district office was situated.
