AN ACT to amend the public buildings law, in relation to prohibiting the
use of adhesive-based rodent traps in state-owned or state-leased
buildings
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. The public buildings law is amended by adding a new section
2 148 to read as follows:
3 § 148. Adhesive-based rodent traps; prohibition. 1. As used in this
4 section the following terms shall have the following meanings:
5 (a) "adhesive-based rodent trap" shall mean any device that is
6 designed or is capable of being used to capture a rodent by means of an
7 adhesive substance, including devices commonly known as glue traps, glue
8 boards, and any similar rodent trap.
9 (b) "state-owned building" shall have the same meaning as provided in
10 section one hundred forty-five of this article.
11 (c) "state-leased building" shall have the same meaning as provided in
12 section one hundred forty-five of this article.
13 2. The use of adhesive-based rodent traps shall be prohibited in
14 state-owned or state-leased buildings.
15 § 2. This act shall take effect on January 1, 2027 for state-owned
16 buildings and for new leases or renewals for state-leased buildings
17 entered into on or after such date.
