AN ACT to amend chapter 756 of the laws of 2021, relating to creating a
temporary "commission to prevent childhood drowning" to improve water
safety in New York state, in relation to the effectiveness thereof
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Section 5 of chapter 756 of the laws of 2021, relating to
2 creating a temporary "commission to prevent childhood drowning" to
3 improve water safety in New York state, as amended by chapter 177 of
4 the laws of 2023, is amended to read as follows:
5 § 5. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
6 it shall have become a law, and shall expire and be deemed repealed
7 [three years after it shall have become a law] December 22, 2025.
8 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
