        Introduced by M. of A. LUNSFORD -- read once and referred to the Commit-
          tee  on  Local  Governments  --  committee  discharged,  bill amended,
          ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee
 
        AN ACT to amend the general municipal  law,  in  relation  to  excluding
          child  day  care  providers  from  restrictions on receiving financial
          assistance from industrial development agencies; and providing for the
          repeal of such provisions upon the expiration thereof
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Subdivision 2 of section 862 of the general municipal law
     2  is amended by adding a new paragraph (d) to read as follows:
     3    (d) Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (a) of  this  subdivi-
     4  sion  to the contrary, financial assistance may, however, be provided to
     5  a project where the sole  purpose  of  the  project  would  be  for  the
     6  construction,  reconstruction, acquisition and/or improvement of a child
     7  day care center, as such term is defined pursuant to  paragraph  (c)  of
     8  subdivision  one  of section three hundred ninety of the social services
     9  law.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall remain  in  full
    11  force  and  effect  until  December  31, 2028, at which time it shall be
    12  deemed repealed.
