          tee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions
 
        AN  ACT  to amend the public authorities law, in relation to authorizing
          the Lawrence-Cedarhurst fire department to  enter  into  a  long  term
          lease with the Nassau county bridge authority
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 16 of section 654  of  the  public  authorities
     2  law,  as added by chapter 106 of the laws of 2001, is amended to read as
     3  follows:
     4    16. To lease property of the authority  to  the  Atlantic  Beach  fire
     5  district,  Lawrence-Cedarhurst  fire  department, inc. or [its designee]
     6  their designees for the purpose of constructing and operating  a  rescue
     7  station,  fire  department  training  facilities, or facilities to store
     8  fire department equipment on such property; provided, however,  that  no
     9  such lease shall be made except with the approval of the county legisla-
    10  ture nor for a period of more than thirty years from the date when it is
    11  made.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
