SIMPSON -- read once and referred to the Committee on Election Law AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to moving the date on which a county committee shall meet to earlier in the year The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Paragraph (b) of subdivision 1 of section 2-112 of the 2 election law, as added by chapter 42 of the laws of 2019, is amended to 3 read as follows: 4 (b) Every county committee shall meet no earlier than [September] July 5 seventeenth and no later than [October] August sixth following the June 6 primary. Until such organization meeting, the existing county committee 7 shall exercise all legal authority. Upon the conclusion of such organ- 8 ization meeting, the new county committee shall assume all legal author- 9 ity vested in the previously organized county committee. 10 § 2.
