Durso) -- read once and referred to the Committee on Energy AN ACT to establish the hydrogen vehicle task force The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The New York state energy research and development authori- 2 ty in cooperation with the department of transportation is hereby 3 authorized to establish the New York state hydrogen vehicle task force 4 to provide the governor and the legislature with information on the 5 potential effects of expanding the fleet of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles 6 in the state. 7 § 2. The task force shall be comprised of: 8 a. two members appointed by the governor; 9 b. two members appointed by the temporary president of the senate; 10 c. two members appointed by the speaker of the assembly; 11 d. two members appointed by the minority leader of the senate; 12 e. two members appointed by the minority leader of the assembly; 13 f. two members appointed by the superintendent of the department of 14 financial services; 15 g. one member appointed by the president of New York state energy 16 research and development authority; 17 h. one member appointed by the commissioner of transportation; and 18 i. one member appointed by the Manufacturing Alliance of New York. 19 § 3. The task force shall: 20 a. examine and evaluate the use of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles within 21 the state; 22 b. identify the potential effects of expanding the use of hydrogen 23 fuel cell vehicles; and 24 c. make recommendations on expanding the use of hydrogen fuel cell 25 vehicles within the state. 26 § 4. Such task force shall collaborate with state and city of New York 27 agencies. 28 § 5. This act shall take effect immediately.
