          on Election Law
 
        AN  ACT  to  amend the election law, in relation to nominating petitions
          for members of the city council
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Paragraph  (c-1) of subdivision 2 of section 6-136 of the
     2  election law, as amended by chapter 418 of the laws of 1993, is  amended
     3  to read as follows:
     4    (c-1)  For  any office to be filled in the city of New York by all the
     5  voters of any city council district, [nine hundred] four  hundred  fifty
     6  signatures;
     7    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
