LEMONDES -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Health AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to expanding the defi- nition of professional misconduct The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 6509 of the education law is amended by adding a 2 new subdivision 6-a to read as follows: 3 (6-a) Refusing to provide professional services to a person referred 4 for treatment by a United States Department of Veterans Affairs facility 5 or provider because such person declines elective services during the 6 course of treatment, provided the declination does not render treatment 7 medically unsafe or violate professional standards of care, 8 § 2.
