SEAWRIGHT -- read once and referred to the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to directing the metropolitan transportation authority to establish a city university of New York student fare program The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The public authorities law is amended by adding a new 2 section 1266-n to read as follows: 3 § 1266-n. City university of New York student fare program. Notwith- 4 standing any other provision of law to the contrary, the authority shall 5 establish a city university of New York student fare program. Such 6 program shall provide each city university of New York student with a 7 full fare reduction equal to the standard pay-per-ride fare for five 8 fares between 5:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. each weekday for any and all 9 train and/or bus travel. Any difference between the standard pay-per- 10 ride fare and the required fare for such service shall be paid by such 11 student. 12 § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of July next succeeding 13 the date on which it shall have become a law. Effective immediately, the 14 addition, amendment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary 15 for the implementation of this act on its effective date are authorized 16 to be made and completed on or before such effective date.
