        Introduced  by  M.  of  A.  ROSENTHAL  --  read once and referred to the
          Committee on Election  Law  --  committee  discharged,  bill  amended,
          ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee
 
        AN  ACT to amend the election law, in relation to requiring the board of
          elections to notify victims of domestic violence whose registration is
          maintained as confidential of the expiration of the confidentiality of
          such registration records
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Subdivision  2  of  section  5-508 of the election law is
     2  amended by adding a new paragraph (c) to read as follows:
     3    (c) No later than six months prior to the expiration of such confiden-
     4  tiality of  registration  records  provided  to  a  victim  of  domestic
     5  violence,  the  board  of elections shall provide the victim of domestic
     6  violence with notice by mail of the date of expiration of such confiden-
     7  tiality and information on the process to make  a  new  application  for
     8  confidentiality of such records.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
