Directs the department of veterans' services and the department of economic development to make available on their website information about federal and state programs available to businesses that employ veterans.

AN ACT to amend the veterans' services law and the economic development
law, in relation to making widely available information on programs
related to the hiring of veterans
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Section 4 of the veterans' services law is amended by
2 adding two new subdivisions 40 and 41 to read as follows:
3 40. To make widely available, via, among other things, publication on
4 the department's website and free mobile application pursuant to subdi-
5 vision twenty-one of this section, information about federal and state
6 programs available to business owners that employ veterans, including
7 but not limited to eligibility requirements and instructions on how to
8 apply for programs related to the hiring of veterans, including but not
9 limited to the federal work opportunity tax credit (WOTC) pursuant to 26
10 USC § 51 et seq. and the hire a vet credit pursuant to subdivision
11 twenty-nine of section two hundred ten-B of the tax law, subdivision
12 (a-2) of section six hundred six of the tax law, and subdivision (g-1)
13 of section fifteen hundred eleven of the tax law. The information
14 required to be made available under this subdivision shall be updated
15 and maintained at least annually.
16 41. To coordinate with the department of taxation and finance and the
17 department of economic development to increase employer awareness about
18 the availability of programs related to the hiring of veterans, includ-
19 ing but not limited to the federal work opportunity tax credit (WOTC)
20 pursuant to 26 USC § 51 et seq. and the hire a vet credit pursuant to
21 subdivision twenty-nine of section two hundred ten-B of the tax law,
22 subdivision (a-2) of section six hundred six of the tax law, and subdi-
23 vision (g-1) of section fifteen hundred eleven of the tax law.
24 § 2. Subdivision 49 of section 100 of the economic development law, as
25 renumbered by chapter 728 of the laws of 2021, is renumbered subdivision
26 50 and a new subdivision 49 is added to read as follows:

14 it shall have become a law.
