STECK -- read once and referred to the Committee on Higher Education AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to fixed tuition rates for students once matriculated in a two or four-year program at any state-operated institution of the state university The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Paragraph h of subdivision 2 of section 355 of the educa- 2 tion law is amended by adding a new subparagraph 1-a to read as follows: 3 (1-a) Notwithstanding the provisions of any other general, special or 4 local law, rule or regulation, such regulations shall also provide that 5 the payment of tuition by any student in any state-operated institution 6 of the state university remains fixed at the rate in effect at the time 7 of matriculation in a two-year or four-year academic program. 8 § 2.
