AN ACT to amend the civil rights law, in relation to the right to breast
feed
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Section 79-e of the civil rights law, as added by chapter
2 98 of the laws of 1994, is amended to read as follows:
3 § 79-e. Right to breast feed. Notwithstanding any other provision of
4 law, a [mother] person may breast feed [her] their baby in any location,
5 public or private, where the [mother] person is otherwise authorized to
6 be, irrespective of whether or not the nipple of the [mother's] person's
7 breast is covered during or incidental to the breast feeding.
8 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
