          read once and referred to the Committee on Racing and Wagering
 
        AN ACT to amend the racing, pari-mutuel wagering and  breeding  law,  in
          relation  to  granting the gaming commission the authority to develop,
          and require racetrack operators to implement, fire protection  systems
          requirements for stables and barns

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 104 of the racing, pari-mutuel wagering and  breed-
     2  ing law is amended by adding a new subdivision 25 to read as follows:
     3    25.  To  develop,  in  consultation with the state fire prevention and
     4  building code council, fire protection systems requirements for  stables
     5  and  barns  used to house horses at racetracks, and to require all race-
     6  track operators licensed  by  the  commission  to  implement  such  fire
     7  protection systems.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
