PHEFFER AMATO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to establishing a central business district toll exemption for veterans The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 1704-a of the vehicle and traffic law is amended by 2 adding a new subdivision 2-a to read as follows: 3 2-a. Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary, no veteran who is 4 a New York state resident shall be charged a central business district 5 toll. For the purposes of this subdivision, "veteran" shall have the 6 same meaning as in subdivision three of section one of the veterans' 7 services law. 8 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
