MIKULIN -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Codes AN ACT to amend the penal law, in relation to mandatory dispositions and commission of a felony offense while in possession of a firearm The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The penal law is amended by adding a new section 60.14 to 2 read as follows: 3 § 60.14 Mandatory dispositions; commission of a felony offense while in 4 possession of a firearm. 5 When a person is convicted of a felony offense that has been committed 6 while in the possession or accompaniment of a firearm, the court's 7 sentence of such defendant in accordance with the provisions of article 8 seventy of this title shall include a mandatory additional sentence of 9 imprisonment for five years. 10 § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of November next succeed- 11 ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
