        AN  ACT  to  amend  the mental hygiene law, in relation to authorizing a
          member of the community or a community ambassador to apply for  invol-
          untary admission of a person alleged to be mentally ill

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. This act shall be known and may be cited as "Tony's law".
     2    § 2. Subdivision (b) of section 9.27 of  the  mental  hygiene  law  is
     3  amended by adding a new paragraph 12 to read as follows:
     4    12.  a  member  of the community in which the person dwells or resides
     5  who is over the age of eighteen, or a community ambassador  in  counties
     6  or localities that have an established community ambassador program.
     7    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
