        AN  ACT  permitting  the  village board of the village of Southampton to
          provide health insurance coverage for enrolled members of  the  South-
          ampton Village Ocean Rescue
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, where
     2  the village board of the  village  of  Southampton  has  designated  the
     3  Southampton  Village  Ocean  Rescue as an emergency rescue and first aid
     4  squad by resolution of the village board, under  section  209-b  of  the
     5  general  municipal law or by special act of the legislature, the village
     6  board shall be permitted to provide health insurance  coverage  for  the
     7  enrolled  members of such squad and their families, pursuant to subdivi-
     8  sion 7 of section 92-a of the general  municipal  law,  under  the  same
     9  terms  and  conditions  as are authorized for volunteer firefighters and
    10  volunteer ambulance workers, including that the total  cost  of  partic-
    11  ipation  by  such  volunteers  and  their families shall be borne by the
    12  volunteers.
    13    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
