STERN -- read once and referred to the Committee on Energy AN ACT to amend the energy law, in relation to explicitly permitting the standard utility interconnection of sub-transmission lines for partic- ular projects The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The energy law is amended by adding a new section 21-107 to 2 read as follows: 3 § 21-107. Interconnection at sub-transmission lines. Notwithstanding 4 any law, rule, regulation, policy or guideline to the contrary, all 5 forms of energy considered distributed generation under the state's 6 Standardized Interconnection Requirements (SIR) shall be allowed to 7 connect to the utilities distribution system at the sub-transmission 8 level provided that the generator has met all other state and federal 9 requirements. The process for such interconnection shall proceed in the 10 same method and fashion as interconnections at the transmission level. 11 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
