        AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to candidate declination
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Subdivision 6 of section 6-146  of  the  election  law,  as
     2  added by chapter 276 of the laws of 2021, is amended to read as follows:
     3    6.  A  person  designated  as  a candidate for two or more party nomi-
     4  nations for an office to be filled at the time of a general election who
     5  is not nominated at a primary election by one or more such  parties  may
     6  decline the nomination of one or more parties not later than [ten] seven
     7  days after the primary election is certified.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
