        AN ACT to amend the correction  law,  in  relation  to  prohibiting  the
          obscuring  of  body-worn  or stationary cameras in correctional insti-
          tutions
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  The correction law is amended by adding a new section 127
     2  to read as follows:
     3    § 127. Obscuring body-worn or stationary cameras. No employee  of  the
     4  department  or  a  local correctional facility shall willfully obstruct,
     5  block or otherwise obscure a body-worn or stationary camera from record-
     6  ing within a correctional facility  for  the  purpose  of  hindering  an
     7  existing  or  potential  investigation,  concealing  a crime or criminal
     8  activity, or concealing otherwise unlawful  behavior.  An  employee  who
     9  violates  the  provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemea-
    10  nor.
    11    § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
    12  have become a law.
